Ten years ago, trans man Avery left his rural hometown in the New Jersey Pine Barrens and never looked back. Now, on the night of his high school reunion, Avery struggles to reconnect with a town that no longer knows him—including June, his former best friend. When an encounter with the legendary Jersey Devil threatens reality itself, Avery and June must confront the lives they’ve chosen—and what they’ve left behind.

Pineys is a horror-tinged adventure about returning home and reconciling with your past, and was a first-place undergraduate recipient of the Krevoy Screenwriting Fund Prize at Northwestern University. It is currently in development.
